Yesterday, our family experienced our first real snow day of the school year (we were out of town for the other ones). Sure, they have closed school a couple of times this year for severe cold and wind chill, but that is oh so very different. You can’t play outside on those days.
It was wonderful to go outside as a family, tackle the driveway and make snow angels. Even though Mike checked the snow blower in the fall to make sure it was in working order – yesterday it would only operate in reverse. And you can’t really move much snow in reverse. No worries, the snow was light and fluffy, so it was very easy to move. It was perfect for shoveling, but not so great for snowball fights. So, we just made snow angels and threw snow at each other, which I have to say was more effective for distributing large quantities of snow down everyone’s clothes.
