I am not an activist but I do love sharing what I have learned. I’m the type of person who hears a person with laryngitis and simply cannot stop myself from telling them my favorite remedy. I’ve even done this with telephone solicitors, I really can’t help myself. If I’m hiking and see a stranger that appears to be getting sunburned, I’ll mention it and offer some sunscreen. I share because I care. I simply cannot mind my own business, I’ve tried but I am not wired that way. The earth is my home, and everyone and thing is part of my community and family, so I treat them that way.
For over 25 years, I have described myself as a naturalist and forager. I am also an herbalist, as I use plants as a primary tool for health. I love learning what’s out there, how everything interacts and what I can eat or what I can use for healing. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than being able to use herbs and food to heal others and myself. I am not a farmer, I married a farmer. I know it’s a loosing battle to try to manage nature. But that said, I thank my lucky stars that there are people who are passionate enough to invest their time, money, and energy to grow our food. Thank goodness for those individuals, because I am not one of them.
I am very conservative, I try never to take more than I need and try my best to reduce my burden on the earth. My goal is to leave this planet in better shape than when I arrived in 1965. Don’t get me wrong – I love modern conveniences; I’m not a Luddite though I do try to be reasonable with the earth’s resources. I look for products that have minimal negative impact when using them.
I’ve spent over 25 years, working at not-for-profit agencies so my finances have never been abundant. This has allowed me to be very creative with obtaining my goals. I love traveling and exploring this wonderful world, eating tasty wholesome foods, reducing the chemicals used in my home, raising my son to respect himself and the world he lives in and sharing the tricks to getting what I want in reasonable and affordable ways.
I remember the first time I had a homegrown tomato. The whole world changed. Imagine realizing Santa Claus really does exist. All those pale unripe tasteless tomatoes my Mom bought at the store. That earthy tomato had the earth’s soul inscribed in the slippery heavenly slide of each bite. The moment was so profound for me because I realized that there’s a difference between industrial farming and farming and that it might be on purpose. The reason I tell you this is because after trying Debbie’s Soothe Thy Skin and Mikey’s Pain Begone it hearkened me back to that moment. If plants have souls then some how Debbie has used the plant without killing the soul of the plant. So many things seem to be made to break so you will buy another one these days. What a gift to use a remedy that simply works. What a gift to use a remedy that has integrity.

Debbie

Hi Debbie, I came across your post about Adenomyosis and was wondering what form and how much vitex you take. I have been looking for alternatives ever since I was diagnosed earlier this year. Any guidance you can give me would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Dawn
